Steve Tressler, affectionately known as "Pappy", passed away on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. Steve was a loyal employee of Mr. Rehab and his indelible mark within our industry goes well beyond. After beginning his career in construction and plumbing, he started into the sewer rehabilitation field in 1985 at Gannett Fleming. There he quickly began "cutting his teeth" in trenchless technology using his vast construction experience and bringing his own special style to the workplace. He worked 22 years with Gannett Fleming and InfraTech Industries before coming to Mr. Rehab in 2007.
Pappy loved taking care of his many clients and customers in the field and having a chance to be a "Hero" as he called it, which simply meant taking care of others and a doing good job. He spent his last years primarily mentoring his younger co-workers. He was hard working and "old school" in his approach and would not hesitate to praise or criticize as he saw fit. It was very common for him to have others laughing hysterically as he would talk your ear off with his unique brand of charm and country humor. He would always be quick to help and offer help to those around him, both inside and outside of work. He was an avid outdoorsman, both a hunter and fisherman. But, without question, the most important thing to Pappy was his family who he spoke about often. He regarded his many coworkers and colleagues at Mr. Rehab to be his family as well.
There have been so many accomplishments throughout his career that we have had an extensive list of customers who requested Steve by name for their projects. In at least one or more occasions, he was even written into a contract by name to make sure he would be the one heading up their work. His list of coworkers, colleagues, and clients, both current and former, who regard him as a friend is endless and nothing short of incredible. His impact on our industry is every bit as extensive and incredible.
Lord only knows how many lives he has touched and made better by his presence along the way. Let there be no doubt that all of us at Mr. Rehab have been very blessed to have him as part of our family and his legacy will live on forever. "You're Irreplaceable Pappy" and you will be greatly missed by everyone...........With Love,
The Guys and Gals of Mr. Rehab, Inc.
